From my hotel I went by cable-car down in the valley and by train to "Brig". From "Brig" I took the train directly to "Zermatt" and it was a very nice trip with a great panaroma. But in "Zermatt" I took a special kind of train, which is able to master the slope and took me from "Zermatt" at 1620 m to the "Gornergrat" at 3089 m. From the platform on 3131 m one have a great view on this amazing panorama with the glaciers, mountains and the "Matterhorn". A very unique place and the ticket for the train with 70 CHF wasn `t cheap, but it was a special event, so after all it was acceptable and a "must have" if you are visiting "Zermatt". If you have more time, you can do the trip as a hiker and I guess it is not a very difficult route. Back from the "Gornergrat" I spent a short time in "Zermatt" and than went the same way back to my hotel...
